There are some core Klaviyo flows – Welcome series, Post-purchase, Abandoned cart. 

Here’s another core flow that you need: an Abandoned Quiz flow. 

That is, sending a quiz after someone completes a quiz, but does not purchase. 

According to Moosend, Abandoned Carts convert at 10%. 


What if you could get 10% conv from a new flow, with under 10 minutes of work? 

This is a big opportunity that we’ll work through now. 

Step 1: Duplicate Your Abandoned Cart

This keeps it simple. 

Branding, copy, the structure of the flow can be reused from your existing Abandoned Cart flow. 

You just need to make a few tweaks now….

Step 2: Set Your Flow Trigger

Create a trigger for the Abandoned Quiz flow, so only people who have taken the quiz enter the flow.  

In Prehook, when someone completes a quiz, the metric “Prehook – Product Recommendation” is automatically sent to Klaviyo. 

Step 3: Filter Appropriately

Make sure that you send this to the right people, at the right time. 

Add a “Wait” function, so that customers can finish their session. Say 30 min. 

Add a Conditional–if they purchased, then don’t send anything.

If they didn’t buy, then send an email. 

Step 4: Nail Your Offer

This is where you unleash the magic of quiz data. 

Dynamically include the product that they were recommended. 

If you’re a skincare brand, and know their skin type and concerns, mention that and why your product can solve their problem. 

Some ideas: 

  • Discount/Coupon
  • Free shipping
  • Gift with purchase
  • Customer testimonials. 
Step 5: Personalize Content

Create segments based on zero party data that you gathered. 

Then you can: 

  • Share content directly addressing their challenges. 
  • Highlight products related to their stated preferences and interests. 

This appears in Klaviyo as a Custom Property AND Event Variable from Prehook.

Step 6: Test and Tweak

Now it’s time to test and optimize. 

Some variables to look at: 

Email vs. SMS? 

Timing between messages? 

Which offers convert best? 

And don’t stop sending.

Even the 7th Abandoned Cart email gets a 6% CTR, per Klaviyo. 

Step 7: Convert!

Brands that effectively use Prehook quiz data to target and personalize are seeing 3x  improvement in conversion rate.
