How To Use Klaviyo Event Variables To Personalize Your Messages
Klaviyo is powerful because it allows you to personalize your email and SMS message based on data that you have gathered from your quiz.
And that is where Klaviyo and Prehook are a powerful combination.
When a customer completes a Prehook quiz, their responses are sent through to Klaviyo in two ways:
- As a Custom Property
- As an Event Variable
Event variables can only be used in metric-triggered flow messages.
In order to include dynamic content in your emails, find the email (in a flow) that you want to edit.
Click “Edit Content”:
In the email editor, click “Preview” on the left hand side:
Now you can see all of the Variables that are associated with the event of completing the quiz, which is called “Prehook – Product Recommendations”:
If you click on any of the variables, it will appear in the box. In the above example, you can see {{ event.products.0.title }} .
To use these variables in your email, you can copy these variables and paste them into your email. Note that these are case-sensitive, and must be copied exactly as they appear in this preview window, or else it will not work properly.
